Good music is more then the stuff you hear on the radio. It’s the stories that the artist tells with his music that really makes the difference, and sometimes you have to dig a bit deeper to find those artists. By putting the stories he’s trying to tell first, Victoria singer/songwriter Northcote (also known as Matt Goude) manages to make Let Me Roar an amazing album that lives up to the legacy left behind by his previous album, Hope Is Made of Steel.

What makes Let Me Roar so engaging is that instead of having the album focused on one singular theme, Northcote has given each of these tracks a different story to tell. For example, the title track tackles the riveting topic of reflection, while the closing track, “Freedom,” covers the unrealistic expectations we hold for ourselves.

These tracks and the others included on the album all help make this album an impactful musical experience that no listener will soon forget.
