Thursday, January 12
Sunday Buckets
Bard and Banker, 9 pm

Get yourself together! Shower, do some general personal hygiene, and then head down to the Bard & Banker for a meal with your friends. Sunday Buckets is playing, and they’ll be almost as groomed as you for this show.

Thursday, January 12
Shane Philip, Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra
Victoria Event Centre, $16.50, 9:30 pm

If Shane Philip had any more instruments he would be an orchestra. But he certainly has the skill to be… there’s just not enough of him to go around. That’s precisely why you should check out his show with the Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra, who in their own right carve a delightful chuck out of Cascadian folk.

Monday, January 16
Jamaraoke
Felicita’s, free, 9 pm

And now for something completely different. We cover a lot of bands that come through Victoria, but have you ever considered singing for a band? Yeah, you! Basically, how this works is a live band accompanies you, and you sing karaoke songs. It’s an exceptional waste of time with friends. Jamaraoke!

The Ballantynes, the Chantrelles, the Truth Sound System
Club 90NE9, $10, 7 pm

This actually came as a surprise. Soul. From Victoria. Yes, soul, from Victoria. Mind = blown. And they’re pretty good, too. Check ’em out. Probably end up being a pretty swinging night.
