Camosun general awards now open 

Camosun College’s financial aid and awards office is looking for students for its General Camosun Awards. The awards, valued at approximately $500 each, are given to students who have overcome personal or mental struggle, those who show outstanding leadership, are academically equipped, or have taken action on animal rights issues or issues related to Africa. Camosun instructor passes away

Camosun biology instructor Geoff Haywood recently passed away. College flags will fly at half-mast on Thursday, April 12.

Submissions open for 2018 Victoria Book Prizes

Submissions for the 2018 Victoria Book Prizes are now open. The prizes consist of the City of Victoria Butler Book Prize, awarded to a local author of fiction, non-fiction or poetry published in the preceding year, and the Bolen Book Children’s Book Prize, awarded to a writer of children’s or youth literature. The winner for both prizes will receive $5,000. The deadline for submissions is May 22. See victoriabookprizes.ca or victoria.ca for applications and submission guidelines.
