UK-based electronic dance band Ladytron’s seventh album, Time’s Arrow, offers a lot more than initially meets the eye.

Listening to the music alone it’s unclear what the lyrics really mean to say, but with the synthesizer featured there’s a definite reason for vague lyrics overpowered by the eerie and melancholic tone of the distorted sound.

Although the album doesn’t have a clear story, the lyrics are still introspective and could be relatable to people suffering from mental illness or just going through a rough patch, especially when they can decide how the lyrics can be applied to their own experiences.

The album showcases the band’s ability to combine many experimental forms of music while maintaining the lively and unconventional delivery of electronic dance songs. This is a great release for those who are already fans of the genre as well as those looking to branch out a bit. Time’s Arrow is a sombre-toned album that will get you dancing.
