PISE expands training area
The Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE), located on Camosun College’s Interurban campus, recently opened its new, expanded outdoor training area. The rubberized-surface area is 5,000 square feet and supplements the field and track areas of PISE; it cost $65,000 and was funded partially by Tire Stewardship BC and the federal government’s Enabling Accessibility Fund. As well, the PISE gym recently got an $860,000 upgrade, including 1,000 new permanent seats for Chargers games. The upgrade was funded by the college, 94 Forward—which is the 1994 Commonwealth Games legacy fund—and a federal government accessibility grant.
College gives out Access awards
Camosun recently awarded $21,000 to 37 students in its 2020 Access Student Awards Celebration. See the complete list of students who won here.
