Extreme metal is one of the most well-known metal sub-genres, not only for its dark and brutal nature, but also for being mysterious, mystical, and multicultural. Stolen Angelic Tongues, a mini-LP released by Vancouver-based Auroch, is one of the best examples of how an extreme metal band can produce good, quality music.

The MLP starts with a Caribbean voodoo-ish theme, which creates a mysterious and ritualistic atmosphere. The next three tracks show the technical skills of the band with fast guitar riffs, hard-hitting drum beats, growling vocals, and perfect transition. To end this MLP, the last track has a theme of nomad Tengrism with throat singing and Central Asian folk music, which makes it truly unique.

By combining different cultural elements and technical style, the musical quality of Stolen Angelic Tongues is amazing, and will continue Auroch’s reign in the Vancouver metal scene and beyond.
