The federal government has announced that it will pause the repayment of Canada Student Loans until September 30, 2020, with no accrual of interest. It is doing this to support student loan borrowers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Student Loans Service Centre website says that this will take effect on March 30, pending Parliamentary approval.

In other COVID-19-related news, Camosun College announced at 11:50 am today that student services on campus will be transitioning from face to face to online or other forms of delivery. According to Camosun’s site, this includes “admissions, registration, financial aid support, the Bookstore, academic support, co-op education and career services, counselling centre, the Centre for Acessible Learning, library services, ombudsperson and counselling.”

The college says that the physical spaces associated with these services will be unavailable for students.

Camosun previously announced it was cancelling all in-person classes, which will be delivered for the rest of the semester through alternative methods.
