Rock of the Woods, taking place July 26-28 in the Cowichan Valley, announced its lineup May 2 at a launch party in downtown Victoria.
Festival organizers unveiled a lineup that includes Seattle folk-rockers The Cave Singers, San Fran psych-soul band Monophonics, Canadian songstress Hannah Georgas, and Victoria’s Jon and Roy. Also on the bill are a bevy of west coast bands, including Mad Made Lakes, Juice, Sunhawk, the Grass Tracks, Deep Sea Gypsies, the Royal Canadians, and Acres of Lions.
The intimate festival has become an annual party in the small farming community of Glenora, near Duncan, BC.
“It’s been a work in progress that has paid off to the biggest lineup to date,” says Rock of the Woods founder David Bain. “It should be noted though; my work hasn’t stopped on the lineup. We will have a few more acts to announce in the coming weeks. This is going to be a fun year!”
The festival is just one of a number of outdoor music festivals this summer in the Victoria area. Other popular outdoor festivals include Victoria Ska Fest, Tall Tree Festival and Rock the Shores.
